CASE STUDY

Abacus Capital Corporation is part of a merchant banking group, with head office based in Vancouver, Canada. The objective of the project was to create an office that would ensure the employees an environment that empowered them, enriched their workplace and created a positive image for clients. The original Toronto office was created in 1997 and reflected a more traditional dark wood and leather interior.

For the simultaneous expansion of offices in 2006-07, Vancouver (6,000 sq.ft.), Toronto (6,000 sq.ft.) and Montreal (1,600 sq.ft.), a lighter maple wood expression was applied to create a more contemporary elegant Zen look. Liaising with Group Five designers in Vancouver, they captured the Client’s vision and translated it into concepts that were used to design all the offices into one cohesive presence.

Our major responsibilities were in Toronto and Montreal and were focused around contract document preparation, building permit applications, construction tenders, relocation management and overall project management.
